The Global Reporting Initiative

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is a non-profit organization that promotes economic, environmental and social sustainability. GRI provides all companies and organizations with a comprehensive sustainability reporting framework that is widely used around the world. Kuoni has released its GRI Index 2015 in accordance ("core") to GRI's G4 Guidelines here.

With the launch of the new GRI G4 Guidelines, many companies are now paving new paths towards more complete and inclusive sustainability reporting, especially focused on Materiality. Kuoni Group sees the new Guidelines as an opportunity to re-examine its current sustainability strategy and to discover possible gaps in understanding the broader societal impacts of its business. Kuoni Group is fully committed to moving forward in the review process with a focus on a more structured and inclusive stakeholder dialogue, in particular with key internal stakeholders. A survey is currently underway to better garner both internal and external opinions on Kuoni Group's sustainability impact. The company hopes that through further stakeholder dialogue, new material issues may be discovered in the coming year to close any current gaps.

The UN Global Compact

The UN Global Compact is a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. By doing so, business, as a primary driver of globalization, can help ensure that markets, commerce, technology and finance advance in ways that benefit economies and societies everywhere. In February 2013 Kuoni Group signed, as the first major tour operator, on to the United Nations Global Compact, committing to incorporating the initiative and its principles into its strategy and culture.
